This year, our Hyattsville facility hosted, "It's a Fine Dining Thanksgiving" for the residents and their families. At this event, each of the residents were given the chance to invite their families and share a Thanksgiving meal with them. However, this year's Thanksgiving dinner was different for our residents in that we have had the pleasure of it being prepared by our Food Service Manager, Cristian Canales. In fact, Cristian has a vast amount of culinary experience under his belt.

He started as dishwasher in a Greek diner at the age of 15 and moved his way up as Prep Cook. He later on became a Cook when he was only 18 years old at the time. His time in this position made him realize that he loves "cooking and creating," so he decided he wanted to one day become a Chef. In order to do so, he went to the Art Institute of New York City. He finished his degree in Culinary Art and Restaurant Management in 2006.
